| *1 I can't confirm the Iraqi Security forces losses for 2003 and 2004. These numblers are simlply made using an archived search from ArabicNews.com, Al Jazeera and several other internetpages which archives news from Iraq, even though official iraqi numbers for 2003 and 2004 is 1300 fatalities. The numbers for 2005 is from iCasualties.org. *2 In these numbers non-hostile deaths are excluded. Source is iCasualties.org. *3 These numbers are made of a count of contractors with a clear military role and where the source is from a list in iCasualties.org. Because security firms don't release much information about people killed in Iraq, these numbers could be a lot higher than those presented here. |
| Briefs "Of the 5736 dead, 4020 were civilians, 1241 police officers, and 475 were Iraqi soldiers ..." Reuters citing official Iraqi statistics, 3. january 2006. Note: Official stats. are actually 853 fatalities less than iCasualties numbers (witch are base on news reports), hence the official numbers seems to be all to low. |
