How beautiful the day when the white puffy clouds
hang like a tapestry against a sky of clear blue.
It is on these days that my lonely heart looks into the heavens
just searching, in hopes of your face forming there too.
Hoping from behind one of those clouds,
maybe the one that billows so high,
I'll see your beauty, I'll see your smile,
as I know you are watching from up there on high.

My mind wonders back to the very first birthday
I shared with you that first year we met.
A cake with candles you set before me
I tried blowing them out, they just came on again.
Your face was aglow, as you said,
'Won't you try harder my friend".
Our friends gathered round they all laughed with us.
what a joy to be loved in your kind of way
As I sit here watching those fluffy clouds that billow
my wish is I could live that day again today.

Now the day is well spent the hours they have dwindled
the wetness of tears on my cheeks still remain.
The darkness approchies the clouds they have faded
like the shadows of hope that burns in my brain
But tomorrow again I'll look into the heavens
and watch so patiently as the clouds drift on by
As I search for your face and long for your smile
For I know you are watching from up there on high
