Jesus is Lord over politics. All human behavior is religious. A candidate's political views flow from his religious convictions. Today there are two major parties, the Democrats and the Republicans. Both parties are non-Christian, pagan, socialist parties. They both believe in oppressive taxation. They both believe the Federal government is the answer to all of societies problems. In reality, the Federal government is the problem, not the answer. Republicans and Democrats are two peas in a socialist pod. Socialism is evil because it is predicated off of theft.
God is the giver of our rights, not the government. God is sovereign, not the state. The purpose of government is to protect people's God-given rights and to punish law breakers. To make Godly living possible in a fallen world is the purpose of government. The government should not be feeding, clothing, housing, or educating anybody.
Christians have a responsibility to vote for the most Godly candidate regardless of his chances of winning the election. You are not responsible for how others vote, but you are resposible to God for your vote. If the Apostle Paul were running for president against Bush and Kerry, and the polls showed Bush and Kerry with 49% of the votes each, but Paul only had 2%, who should you vote for? As a Christain which vote would honor Christ? The answer is Paul. We are not to settle for the lesser of two evils, but rather vote our principles. Duty is ours. Consequences are God's. Don't try to play God. Just do your duty.
