About the Event

The Reigning Champion in a weapon will not compete in that weapon but will be called to judge thier weapon instead. The goal is to try to solve the problems associated with finding an impartial Director and getting a bit more variety in the championships. Directors will still make plenty of mistakes and will certainly be yelled and and hated on that day but such is the life of the Director and we, the CSFA Fencers, must all share in that burden. Remember this on the 24th.

The event is a CSFA organized event designed to remove the fencers from the typical surroundings of competition. It was conceived in the twisted little minds of the Founders: Thomas Smailus, George Fuller, Beth Hughes.

The Horcktoberfest used the current CSFA rules of the event.

Specifics

• Participation: Fencing by invitation only.
• Cost: $5 to fence only, $20 fence + T-Shirt. (Subject to change)
  Non fencers: (and partygoers) a $2-$5 contribution to the organization will be greatly appreciated to help defer the cost of the party supplies, but is not required.
• Date: April 24th, 1998, 10am - 3pm.
  Starting time is EXACT. Be at George's place by 10:00 am if you want to insure your ability to fence in any event as we will not know which goes first till that day. Since we are now meeting at the site, arriving late is not a problem. However, if you arrive after the bouts for a weapon have completed for the first round, you will be too late for that weapon. Arriving after the start of the weapons first bout but before the end of the first round will allow you to be added to the brackets, but you will start your first bout with a 2 point penalty. Ending time is, of course, only approximate.
• Poisons: The usual array: Southern Comfort and the Victors Bain: the Hot Damn!. In regards to additional poisons, please read the Rules of the Duel.
