He was wounded at Fraser's Farm just outside Richmond, VA. on or about 30 June 1862. This battle was part of Lee's '7 Days' that thwarted Mclellans advance on the Confederate capital and he was one of 7 men in the 12th SCV wounded in that engagement. He survived and surrendered with the Army of Northern Virginia at Appomax Court House, VA, 9 Apr 1865. He married Margaret Agnes McNeal on 28 Feb 1884. He died in Fairfield County, 17 Mar 1912. This is my mother's paternal grandfather.
