In the Name of God Amen I John Cone of the county of Lancaster being aged and weekly but by gods permission in good sense and memory

I bequeath my soul to almighty God that gave it me in hopes that it may be everlastingly happy by the merits of my blessed Lord and Savior. _____ _____ my body to be decently buried _____ _____ on _____ my _____ hereafter named Expecting my soule and body to be united in ye happiness above mentioned.

I give and bequeath unto my son John Cone one shill and noe more.

I give and bequest unto my son Versue [could this be Jesse? Very difficult to read] Cone all my wearing apparrell.

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Augustina Cone one cow and calf and sow being at the plantation.

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Pursley one breeding sow.

I give and bequeath unto my son Geo. Cone one mare fille and cow att the discretion of my wife.

I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Cone the plantation whereon I now live and all the Land thereunto belong and to his heirs lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to his two sisters Margaret and Elizabeth Cone and their heirs lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to my loving son David Cone and his heirs and if he never appears here to my son Versue (sic) and his heirs. I give and bequeath all the rest of my ____ estate my debts and legacies being paid to be divided equally between my loving wife Eliz. Cone and her three children Edward Margaret and Elizabeth Cone revoking and making void all other my wills and tenants the which will consisting of one side of a halfe sheet of paper and a little more and I doe appoint my loving wife Eliz Cone Executor of this my last will. In Confirmation of which I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seale this 6th day of October Anno Dom. 1697.

Note: The I in the middle of the signature could very well have been his mark since the signature was written in the same hand as the will and the I is very large compared to his signature.
