Princeville and the surrounding area provide much to do in the way swimming, snorkeling, hiking, fishing, golf, tennis, horseback riding, sight seeing just to name a few. There are two small beaches in the complex and a few miles to the north are some of the finest beaches in all the Hawaiian Islands. Numerous movies were made here in a setting that reveals no encroachment by man. You can hike ancient Hawaiian trails along the face of towering cliffs back to interior valleys with water falls and secluded beaches. Here is some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Hawaii.

There is a complete shopping center at the entrance to Princeville. A large well-stocked supermarket with a liquor, deli, meat, fish, bakery, video rentals, departments as well as the usual. There are several restaurants, an ice cream parlor, a bakery, a hardware store, gift shop's etc. Other grocery shopping is available in Hanalei, Kappa, and in Lihue. In the tourist area between Wailua Bay and Kappa lies the ‘ Coconut Market Place’ shopping area. It contains dozens of small shops, restaurants, and a movie theater.

The island itself provides much in the way of natural beauty and phenomenon. The Bali-Hai Mountains, Waimea Canyon, its spectacular beaches, Kiluaea Lighthouse and wildlife refuge, Fern Grotto, NaPali Cliffs and coast line, Wet and Dry Caves, National Tropical Botanical Gardens, are just a few.
