The famous gold beach, where 40,000 people came to try
and find fortune in 1900. The town now inhabits around
4,000 people year round.

Just one of many rusting pieces of gold mining
equipment scattered around Nome.
In about 2 months, this ocean will be frozen over.
On our trip to Nome from Kotzebue, we took a small airlines called Frontier. The plane was an 8 seater and had windows all around to see the beautiful Alaskan tundra.

It started snowing this week, just a light drift that has given everything a white blanket.
