Paranormal: Beyond the normal.
Parapsychology: The study of paranormal activity (hauntings, poltergeist phenomena, cold spots, etc.) from a scientific standpoint rather than a psychic or sensitive type.
Percipient: A living person who sees a ghost, spirit or paranormal event.
Phantomania: An occurrence in which the victim is held paralyzed while being subjected to preternatural attack.
Phantom Animals: Ghosts of deceased animals.
Phantom Draft: When a strong blast of wind blows though a doorway (Usually strong enough to blow open doors and, rarely, windows, followed by some kind of odor, usually pleasant; often is strong ozone).
Phantom Hitchhiker or Traveler: A ghost or spirit that haunts a particular stretch of road or route. Phantom Hitchhikers ask for rides only to suddenly disappear when they reach their destination.
Photographic Apparitions: Ghosts and spirits that you can't see, but appear in photographs after they are developed. Also seen on digital cameras as well.
Phantom Microburst: Generally associated with electrically powered devices; a centralized phenomenon of a blindingly bright burst of sparks caused by manifestation of an entity. Often experienced as having earthquake-like properties (such as high winds, trembling of the ground and/or building(s), and sudden gusts of rain without visible source) except for the manifestation itself, which is the intensely bright lights. Mostly experienced (documented) indoors, but may happen outdoors as well.
Phantom Ring or Call: When a phone spontaneous rings for no apparent reason. After it has been confirmed that everything checks out on the phone and line, further evaluation may be necessary. In most cases a general haunt it is followed up buy poltergeist activity. |
