Caging Bettas
So you have your betta or plan to get your betta.  Well you need to know how to cage it.  First off NEVER EVER out two males in the same cage.  They will fight to the death:(.  Also you can put females in a cage together but sometimes you need to watch them because they can be just as aggresive.  For all bettas its a minimum of one betta per one gallon.  They need at leats one gallon okay.  Don't worry that may sound big but its really not.  Also when putting females in one cage make sure they don't fight and it's one girl per one gallon.  Also it is best to keep your bettas in heated water anywhere from 68F to 82F.
And one more thing.  I don't know who started it but who ever did was really stupid.  If you have ever heard of Betta in a vase never ever do it.  It is horrible.  Betta in a vase is where you put a Betta in a vase then a real plant on the surface so the roots are in the water.  And you never ever clean the cage or feed the Betta.  They do this because they say that the Bettas will eat the roots and the plant will clean the water.  This is all very WRONG!!!!!!!!!!  Bettas are carnivorous by nature.  Meaning they eat other organisms not plants.  It only eats the roots sometimes because it is starving.  You would eat roots to if you were starving.  Also the plant can not keep up to cleaning the water because the Betta poops faster and it does not send off enought roots to make the Betta happy.  All in all this an evil thing to do to a Betta or any creature.  If you ever see someone doing this you have my permission to tell them to stop and how it is so wrong.  And if they don't beleive you send to this site.  So never ever do Betta in a vase.  It is an inhumane way of keeping Bettas.
