Betta Health
Now that you have a Betta you need to know how to know when your little guy/gal is sick.  Here is a table first then deseases and treatments next.  I hope can help you cure your fish.
The Healthy Betta Should:

Belly Looks Normal

Scales are smooth

Gills are normal


Eyes are normall

Body Looks slick and clean



Fins and Tail are spread out like a fan

Is very colorful

Acts Normal


Swims around happily and is very active

Eats a lot(or whenever he can, LOL)
The Unhealthy Betta Would:

Belly is bloated or hollow

Scales are sticking up

Gills look swollen and one or both may not close all the way

Eyes are poping out or swollen

Body may have open sores, white cottony patches, red spots, lumps or white spots.

Fins are clumped together and/or torn

Color is paler tan usual

Swims sloggishly or scatches body on everything it sees

Hangs near the top or bottom moves very little or not at all

Eats rarly or not at all
