So now you got your fishie and you want to know how to feed it. Well this is a very good question. First off you need to pick out which type of food you would like to get. Good choices are Betta Bites, Brine Shrimp, or Bloodworms. Now Betta Bites are a good cheap food for Bettas that are in little pellits. Although they may seem like the best option I have found that some Bettas will not eat the Betta Bites. I have no idea why, maybe they are just really picky. But I do need to stress that you use some pelleted food like Hikari Bio-Gold and Wardley. I personally think a better way to go is with either Brine Shrimp or Bloodworms. You can get these foods in either freeze dried, frozen, or alive. Now don't freak out when you hear the word worm it is only a tiny little itsy bitsy little worm that does not even look bad. I have found that freeze dried and frozen are both good. But freeze dried is the best because it does not have to be refrigerated but is bought in a container while frozen is bought in a package and has to be kept frozen or it gets all over the place. ICK. And if you get live food you may also want to get a freeze dried or frozen because you should not feed live food all the time. You should only feed blood worms and/or brine shrimp 2 to 3 times a week. It is not good for them to have it all the time thats why you need pelleted foods also. Now you need to know how to feed your bettas. I feed my Betta two times a day and I think that is a good amount. A Betta could live with one meal a day but two I think is a little more heathy. For amounts read the feeding imformation on back of food product. I hope I have helped you. |
