Wheezy, FDCh.
Wheezy, my first dog,  is a german shepherd/rottweiler cross who was donated to the WCVM Vet School while I was a student. She was born with a condition called Persistent Right Aortic Arch, in which her heart developed backwards resulting in a stricture around her esophagus. At a young age she underwent an experimental thoracoscopic surgery to remove the stricture. It was the first time this procedure had ever been performed without doing open heart surgery. The procedure was a success and she is doing amazingly well.
When Wheezy was a year old we began training in flyball and agility with the River Runners flyball club in Saskatoon, SK. She quickly achieved her FbDCh title. Unfortunately during her last flyball tournament she had a teammate run over her and she has never recovered her confidence. She very much enjoys playing in agility.

Sadly, Wheezy passed away in March 2008. She will be missed.
