Conch-L ID Assistance Page

(Deep water, off Somalia, 1991. 13mm)
This is a list of helpful individuals who have volunteered to assist Conch-l members identify shells they just can't find in the literature they have access to, or are uncertain of (even WITH good literature, some shells simply defy classification!!). Usually they will require a photo or scan of the beastie in question - verbal descriptions are notoriously difficult, even for the "experts"! The best way is to simply send them the image, along with all the information you have - size, locality, habitat, etc. - it all helps.
Any errors on this page will be corrected when i find out about them - so don't be shy to scream about them!! (mail link)
Best and Brightest,
Ross Mayhew.
P.S.: A lot of families are yet to be represented - and more than one voluteer per family is not a bad thing either - so if you think you can be of some help, please give me a shout.
