CC: How did you come up with the name Punchline and what is the meaning behind it?

Steve: There is absolutely ZERO meaning behind it and I came up with it because I thought it sounds cool! Thought you were going to get a good answer out of that one huh?

CC: How did it feel transforming from a local band to a band that has been performing all over the world?

Steve: Ah, It is really strange and after playing all of these places its just weird to come back to a show like tonight, which is a local show, but its like I have a lot to do with being in charge of it and its like, weird. So to answer your question, its WEIRD!

CC: Is there any specific city or venue you enjoy playing at?

Greg: Well, we had a particularly good show in Hartford a couple nights ago, where Im from. At the Webster Theatre, I also like playing around here too

CC: Do you have a favorite band you enjoy touring with or are good friends with?

Steve: We are very good friends with Hidden in Plain View, who we just got off tour with and were very good friends with Bayside and A Week in July, Hometown Heroes

CC: What kind of rush do you get when you come back home and you get all this endless support from your hometown?

Steve: Its strange because it seems like the rest of the world is catching up to the hometown thing. So its almost I feel like people at home dont like us as much as they used to. But I think that its just people outside of home are starting to like us a lot more. But the rush is still awesome like you can always count on good show at home, so thats nice. The rush is similar to huffing gas, *we all laugh together* Hypothetical gas! * laughs again*
CC: Punchline fans are still in awe over Paul leaving the band. Some fans say that Punchline would never be the same. What are your feelings about Paul leaving and what would you say to your fans about their concerns for Punchline?

Steve: You know he left, its an abrupt change in our band, but we are embracing this change. I think that pretty much everyone that has said you know, its not going to be the same that has seen us, it has changed their minds and its actually a good thing and if you havent seen it yet youll see it tonight.

CC: With Greg Wood as Paul's replacement on guitar, how do you think he will live up or surpass the standard Paul set before he left the band?

Steve: I cant really, you know interject, since Greg is standing right next to me ha-ha, Greg is awesome. Greg moves more in the first 10 seconds of our set then Paul did in the last 4 years. And that is true.

CC: You are performing at the Independence-D show in Japan on March 12th, how is the band preparing for the trip and do you plan on performing new material while your there?

Steve: No, no new material. How are you preparing for the trip Greg?
Greg: A lot of running around and mailing stuff and paper work, that kind of preparing. As far as like preparing for like any show, for me I try to not think about it until the last second then its too late to think about it. Thats my way of not really getting overly nervous.
CC: Have you ever played Japan before?

Steve: Yes, we went over there this past summer and it was the greatest thing Ive ever done in my life. Im excited for Greg to experience that.!
Greg: For me its a dream
Steve: Its so much different over there, its just weird because were bigger over there then we are here and to not have to work for it is strange!

CC: With your remix of Heart Transplant and working on new material, do you plan on putting out a new album in the near future and if so, when you do think it will be hitting the stores?

Steve: There will be a new album in the future, no doubt. We really dont know were trying to get it out as soon as we can, but its probably not going to be until early spring 2006. Wow that sucks!

CC: If you could be part of an all-star lineup for one night, who would you include on the bill (dead or alive)?

Steve: I like this show this shows great! I would add Bayside, Less than Jake and Hidden in Plain View. I think that would be cool. Like whats special to us about this show is that weve known every band that is playing for 4 years or more. I just cant wait for this show to be over so we can hang out. Its a big reunion for all the friends.
Steve: And just for the record, this was not our first time doing an interview in a bathroom
