Three's Company Too

Okay, Linkin Park experience number two. There were some minor mishaps. After reading what happened to my friends on LPU, I realize I'm not the only one to have some. One had to go to the hospital because she was crushed between the rail and a crowd surfer. And I thought it sucked that I got kicked in the neck/head by one. That really hurts.

I was down by the left rail about four rows from the front most of the time. Story Of The Year I wasn't too impressed by. I gave them a chance and wanted to like them, but I didn't. Maybe if I knew their songs, because I only liked it when they did a cover of "Enter Sandman." The guitarist was playing a solo with his legs spread in "The Rock Stance" and the lead singer got down and crawled between them. That was funny. Their bass player provided me with lots of entertainment. He was just funny to me. They are an entertaining band to watch, I'm just not totally fond of their music.

Hoobastank was all right. They came out to the "Three's Company" theme song. I don't know what was funnier: the fact they did that or the fact people were singing along. They did a cover of "Girls Just Wanna have fun" which was hilarious because he sang really high.

POD had pretty green lasers, and that was just about it. It was cool that they brought some kids up during "Youth Of The Nation." Best thing was during their set I saw Chester watching off on the side just over 10 feet away from me! After about 10 seconds I remembered that I had a camera and should take a picture. Of course it was at that moment where he decided to go backstage.

Between POD and Linkin Park was mishap number one. Having anemia can make someone become light headed very easily. Well, it was getting stuffy, and at that moment several people around me lit up cigarettes. That adds my asthma and allergies on top of it. Not good. I got dizzy and had blurred vision. I felt myself being moved and sat down. There was a breeze and I came to almost instantly. I was sitting in the side backstage area. I was given a cup of water and felt completely better. The security let me go back in where I was, which was cool.

And now Linkin Park. Awesome!! Mike started singing "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" by Jet while Intro'ing "It's Goin' Down." Later before "My December" he came out dressed like the drummer from Jet and they were singing something to the tune of a Jet song. I can't remember the lyrics, but it was really funny. About being dressed funny and looking like a geek or something. Chester then said he wants to take him seriously, but can't because he looks like a Beatle.

"It's Goin' Down" was another highlight. At the beginning it was just Mike reciting the lyrics. It was so cool, sounded like spoken word or poetry reading. And then the band kicked in and it was sweet!

It was during "Nobody's Listening" where mishap number two occurred. I was starting to get the light headed feeling again, but sense I knew the cool air made it better I turned a moment to the side area and waved some of it on me. I was feeling better in seconds, but apparently my gesture meant "Get me out!" to the security and they pulled me out. I said I was fine and tried to get back over like last time, but this security guy stopped me and said I couldn't and had to go to the back. I tried to explain the situation, but he interrupted constantly so I could never finish. I gave that up and went around to the back area, knowing I could never shove my way all the way to where I was.

It was here after a couple songs when mishap number three came. A crowd surfer come from behind and got me in the neck/head/shoulder area. I love how the tickets read "NO MOSH/BODY SURFING." There was also apparently a rule about no smoking. Hmm...

Here's another mishap, number four. Well, not a complete mishap, but it happened. I was starting to feel light headed again, and now I had no quick area to pull in some air. They were about to go into "A Place For My Head," and I knew there was no way I could handle the pit the way I was feeling. So I moved over to the barricade of the reserved seating area. Of course It took practically the entire song because not very many people were moving out of the way.

One last mishap, number five. After the concert I had to climb all the way up those steep stairs. Once at the top I had to sit down for a minute because I started wheezing. And I couldn't get any water because everything was closed. Luckily I remembered I had a cough drop in my pocket, so that helped.

So that's my quickie recap. It may seem like a horrible time with everything that happened, but over all it was still an awesome time. Being in general admission like that you have to expect some things to happen. That's just what it can be like on the floor.
