It Was Free
We got to the mall around 10:30 AM or so. The concert was in Camp Snoopy. There was a bridge thing above where 98* was going to perform. I wasnt too far away considering how late I got there; the concert was at 11:00 AM. I was able to weave my way through the crowd, and got about 20 feet closer. Nearing 11:00, people were passing out these 98* temporary tattoos. I got one full sheet, but these girls next to me grabbed like 10 sheets. Then this girl passed by me and saw my *NSYNC necklace. She said something like, NSYNC, right on! That was cool.
Around 11:00, Scotty Davis from KDWB came out. Everyone screamed. There was some kind of technical problem, so the concert was delayed for like a half-hour. So, Scotty had to talk for a while. They played for 98* songs over the speaker, and Scotty came out between songs. I was funny, cause a bunch of us were chanting, Scotty! Scotty! Scotty noticed, and waved in our direction. I took a picture of him except you probably wouldnt even tell who it was; it was too far away. Around 11:30, Scotty asked who was ready for 98*, and everybody started screaming.
98* then appeared from behind a big picture of them. They came out singing the beginning of Yesterdays Letter then switched to The Way You Want Me To. Im was excited that they sang that song, because its one of my favorites on the CD. When that was over, they talked a little. I didnt catch all they said, but they said something about the MTV contest. The one to pick theyre next single. Then 98* started into My Everything. After that, 98* talked again, and said they were about to sing the #2 song on the Billboard chart. Una Noche! During that song, everyone was singing along.
When Una Noche was over, 98* went off stage. Since they were only supposed to be singing three songs, some people started to leave. Then Nick came back out, saying they were going to sing one more song. So then, the other guys came out, and they sang The Hardest Thing. I got a little closer during that song, because of the people that left. Then after that song, it was all over. There was also going to be an autograph signing for the people that won the wristbands. So many people left, I was able to walk right up to the stage.
I was going to wait for 98* to come back out, and get a closer up picture. But after waiting like 10 minutes, I got bored, so I left. Overall, the mini-concert was fun. Something that was cool was that when 98* came out, Scotty Davis came down to get a drink from this stand right next to where I was standing. Something I wasnt too happy about was a sign I saw. It was shaped like Minnesota, and had a collage of 98* pictures on the front. On the back it said, *NSYNC sucks. That wasnt very nice!
