Review:
Acoustic performance/interview; as valuable for the conversation as
it is for the two songs performed--topics include politics (Newt And Co.
had just been elected), Letterman, the rough-and-tumble civil rights days
of the '60s, and the fact that both of Glen's folks attended Berkeley;
better still, the dj's mellow and is actually familar with Toad...these
kind of shows are infinitely more enjoyable when it's not some hyped-up
wanker spinning hip-hop in the background while he "chats" with the band
and who thinks Don Quixote is the name of Marlon Brando's character in The
Godfather (see Houston 02/15/95, for example); for the faint of ear in the
audience: beware of the John Bobbitt wisecrack here. (C.H.)
