Review:
Dub of video which is a bit light on the bottom end of the audio
scale; five Pale songs all in a row, followed by a slew of unreleased (at that
time) fear tunes, most of which include multi-instrumentalist stud Bruce Winter
on keyboards and, on "Something to Say," flute! (his very first performance with
Toad); Glen implores crowd members to "buy my girlfriend lots of drinks"; nice
versions of "All I Want" and "In My Ear," but Glen musses the lyrics to "Spirit"
quite deftly; one verse of a rockin' "Crazy Train" is enough for the band; locate
the Replacements' "I'll Be You" on this tape and win a free bowl of soup!; recorded
only a mere eight days before the original World Toad Day (6/22/91). (C.H.)
