| Thanks to WAXX, my mom and I got to go see Trace Adkins in Marshfield. She won passes into the fair and to go to a tailgate party put on by WAXX to meet Trace Adkins. We left right after school and checked in with WAXX. I'm gonna warn you now, this may be long! LOL! So then we (John, George, Tammy, Me, my mom, Alice in Dairyland, and about 10 other winners) go into the concert area for the party. We're standing around waiting for Trace when we spot him, and believe me, he's hard to miss. His road manager (dang I forgot his name!) said that if anyone wants a picture or something signed to go ahead. So me being right there, I give the manager my camera and I walk up to Trace. He says 'Nice shirt' and all I can squeak out is a thanks. God he's tall! Then my mom meets Trace and he asks her if the bandaid that was on her arm was from giving blood. And my mom said yes it is. Trace showed us his arm and said that he gives blood too and that he must look like a drug addict! LOL Funny guy! Then I hand him 2 album covers that I brought for him to sign and he tells me that his new album will be out October 9 (like I didn't know. I studied before I went!) and that it's better than those two! So after Trace meets with everyone, he goes off to his bus and we all hang out and have brats and soda with the Flakes. My mom asked if we'd be getting reserved seats, and John said no but that we'd get to go in the grandstand before anyone else! haha! :) Gotta love having connections! |

| The concert was great. My mom and I picked out some seats about 4 rows up in the bleachers and sat around for an hour and 1/2 until the show started! Trace sang all of his 'big' songs like: "Big Time", "More", "I'm Gonna Love You Anyway", "This Ain't No Thinkin' Thing", "Every Light in the House", "Don't Lie", "The Rest of Mine", "There's a Girl in Texas", "I'm Tryin'" and more including new songs! I loved "Chrome"! A line 'I'm Tryin'' to remember goes: ...colors of the rainbow/her favorite color is chrome. It's about this girl who likes his truck...very funny! Here's some quick highlights: * Was on MWL next day, called the host, Lance Smith, a sissy! Right on Trace! * Said the most embarassing thing is forgetting words to his own song - he did! * Sang an amazing 3 new songs * Talked of the new baby girl on the way and how he'll have to pay for their weddings (Brianna Rhea Adkins was born on September 4, 2001! Congrats!) * Album is called Chrome because if it does bad, he can say that the album went chrome! LOL |
