Sunday started out raining, which was a bad thing! My mom and I waited in line for almost an hour and when the gates were opened we rushed to the front of the grounds with our lawn chairs and ended up getting front row seats in the 'cheap seats' (behind VIP and reserved).
The rain let up not long after entering the grounds and the first act of the day, Trick Pony (which were awesome) came onstage. I asked a lady selling Jessica's merchandise when the meet and greet was and she said 'you have to have an armband'. The armband was to meet Jessica AND Billy...I stood around for a little while and sat back down. I kept my hopes up thinking that the fan club would meet after the show.
Just before Jessica came onstage, they said the fan club WILL meet after the show! I was SO happy! I saw all these young girls who were obvious Billy fans in the front of the picture line. (Jessica & Billy were on tour together for the =29 tour) I told my mom that it'd be funny if Jessica came out first...and she did! It was so funny! After a run through that line I sat back down for the rest of their shows. Sorry for those that like Billy, but I didn't care for his show. He whines too much and sings too high. Very annoying!
The meet and greet for the fan club was surprisingly small. Last year when I met Jessica there were 3 fan club members including me...This time there were 4 including me! There were a lot of people waiting to see if Billy or Jessica would come out and sign autographs. Then a security guard asked if there was any Jessica fan club members. A whole 4 of us held up our cards and back we went.
The meeting:
Very cool. We got to go back by the buses behind the stage. I saw Jessica in the front window with Rocco. What a cute dog! Then Jessica came out and then her mom! I was the last one to meet her and I gave her a note I wrote her and a necklace with 'CJ' on it to remember Country Jam. She loved it. I told her that I was Dana from the messageboard. She asked me what my name was on there and I told her 'DanaChick'. And she told her mom 'This is DanaChick from the messageboard'. Very cool! After the guy and Jessica's mom took a picture of us another lady asked my name and I told her...It was very cool and Jessica is very nice! :) Update: A few months later I got the new FanFam newsletter and I was in it! The picture that Vicki (Jessica's mom) took of me and Jessica was featured in the newsletter...too cool! It's posted above! |
