Welcome New Members!

We are glad to have you as a member of Concerned Wyoming Citizens.  Our goal is to make sure that the City Council members who represent US actually LISTEN to us.  As you probably know, we are currently circulating a petition (there are MANY copies floating around) in Wyoming asking for a public forum and/or a vote regarding the proposed Aquatic Center.  The petition drive officially ends on April 15, so if you have one in your possession, please return it (addresses are at the bottom of the petition itself).

Since wed like to expand our membership, please make sure your friends and neighbors are in our database, too.  How do you do this?  Simply collect the name, address, phone number, and email address of everyone you encounter who would like to become a Concerned Wyoming Citizen.  Obviously, we want their email address to keep them informed with newsletters (like this one); the reason we need the other information is so that eventually we will know who to contact to sign a referendum (if it comes to that).  To get a blank list for your friends and neighbors to sign, just print the attached form.  (Dont worry about duplicates; Ill make sure I dont enter people twice).  Ive also attached a petition, in case you yourself know of a few people who might sign; its simple to do - just have them fill it out, and then you can return it to someone on the bottom of the form.

We have LOTS of information to share, and to help with this, Ive created a website: http://geocities.com/concernedwyomingcitizen .  It has TONS of information about the proposed Aquatic Center, including cost details, newspaper articles, editorials, minutes from City meetings about the proposal, possible alternative solutions to the current proposal, and much more.  It is a work in progress, so please be patient.  I am adding information as it becomes available (and as I have time!)  If you would like to submit something, please email it to [email protected] (note that there is no S at the end of citizen in the email address) and I will post it on the website.  We also have a blog, which is available (at http://wyomingmunicipool.blogspot.com/) - anyone can post comments there.

Publicity is important, so if any of you would like to write letters to the editor, its easy to do.  Just write down your thoughts (500 words or less) and submit it to [email protected] - he is the editor of The Tri-County Press newspaper.  If your document is over 100 words, youll need to send a photo with the letter.  (The guidelines are printed on the editorial page of the paper.)  Also, please note that the deadline is noon on Friday the week before the paper comes out (on Wed.).  (You can also submit editorials to the Enquirer using their online form at http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/99999999/EDIT0202/302160003 or snail mail it to The Cincinnati Enquirer, Letters to the Editor, 312 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.

Thanks for your support - we CAN make a difference!
