Philosophy

Preservation, conservation, modernization, and collaboration became the Tyme Quartet's foundation of ideas behind
Concepts in Tyme. As ensemble members, we searched for new avenues behind our music and the timeless music of the masters while attempting to maintain the dignity of such a hallowed art form. Considering the average age of the group was 17 at the release date, we had large barriers to override. But despite the doubts and fears of young artists releasing new material into the jazz world, we succeeded in making a name for the Tyme Quartet and the mission that this ensemble is founded upon. There are hundreds of great young musicians. Our task as young artists is to create. And because musical creativity envolves both musician and audience, the Tyme Quartet has released Concepts in Tyme in order to connect our creativty with our audience. We hope that you can share a musical experience through Concepts in Tyme and thank you for the listening.
