Spouse: Still single :( Residence: Springfield, MA College: University of VT, BA Psych 1987 Professional Degree: Master Social Work, May 2003 Hobbies: concerts, hiking, reading Got BA Psych UVM 1983. Moved to California for a few years. Back east in 1990 and have been living in Springfield since then. Have been working in Human Service field, with populations from children to adults, and in 1999 wanted to be a Hospice Social Worker but learned that in order to do so, I needed an MSW so went to Springfield College and just finished up the program. Did not have Biology as undergrad so am taking that the month of June and then will officially have my degree. Am taking LCSW (License Social Worker) course weekend June 6 as preparatory to LCSW licensing exam, after which I will need to work in the field for 2 years before I can sit for the LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker). But, am not interested in going into private practice, even if I get the LICSW. Actually, am not sure what I want to do. Not too sure about hospice although I loved my internship as a hospice social worker. Chose social work partly because it is a broad field. Plan to apply to several agencies and trust that the universe will provide me with the perfect job, suitable to my skills, experience and interests. Found out while in MSW Program that I like research and may land a job doing that. Am open to whatever comes my way as I do the footwork. May even relocate since the state of the economy is so poor right now and jobs are hard to come by. Other than that, I'm busy preparing to travel to Sweden to see my sister and family in July -- graduation present! That's about it! Will be interested to see if there are any other social workers out there!!! Can't wait to see everybody. |
