ADVENTURE TRIPS IN THE ALBANIAN ALPS

- The Albanian Alps are characterized by a high contrast of relief, expressed in the difference between the valleys and the surrounding peaks, differences that go until 2000m. The highest peak is Jezerca (2694). The villages of particular beauty, situated in the valleys, are connected with each other by automobilistic roads.

- For those having a good physical preparation, these are 6 days of infinite possibilities for trekking, speleology, mountain-climbing, swimming and fishing.

- During this trip you will have the possibility to discover the beautiful valleys of Cemi and Shala, as well as the rich material and spiritual culture of the highlanders, preserved quite untouched through the years.

You may sleep in their houses or in camping.

Come in our Alps. In every step you will come across nice surprises. These areas are quite unknown to the foreigners.

Rinas Airport (Tirana). For those traveling by ferry-boat, the Port of Durrës.

"Rozafa" Hotel in Shkodër ( the first and the last night); double rooms with toilet and shower.

In the Alps (5 nights), in the farmers houses or in camping.

6. Transport:

Collective transport (minibus). It's about 100 km from Rinas Airport/Port of Durrës to Shkodër.

7. Guide:

Three guides after the language to be used.

8. Prices:

350 USD per person, including: double room with toilet and shower, food and drinks, payment for

the visits, the guide and the asicuration. For single rooms, 10 extra USD are needed.

Some of the most interesting characteristics of the places along the itineraries:

Rrapsh: Dominant point from where you can see the beautiful Valley of Cemi, 800m down.

Tamarë: Administrative center of the Kelmendi Highland. The old Bridge of Tamara: the union point of two rivers: Cemi of Selca and Cemi of Vukël, where you can fish trout.

Tamarë ------- Bordoleci Neck (near Lëpusha). High mountains, canyons, characteristic houses, beech forests, alpine flora, grazelands, pastures

Vermosh: Houses of the fortress type, Vermoshi river, beech forests.

Lëpushë: A beautiful glacial valley, typical alpine landscape, hospitality.

Tamarë ------- Nikç: the springs of Cemi of Vukël, a nice village in the middle of high mountains (Shenikupeak 2554 m.)

Bjeshkët e Namuna: One of the most beautiful and most magnificent mountain massifs of Albania; alpine landscapes, wild goats, mountain peaks (2000 - 2500m) and passes, alpine pastures.

Theth: National Park, farm life, mountain river, the waterfall of Grunasi, the Canyon of Kaprea, bathing and fishing sites, blood feud fortresses, caves.

Bogë: Giant valley of glacial origin, surrounded by high mountains in which are situated some of the greatest caves of Albania.

Lake of Koman: Trip by boat in a beautiful artificial lake through mountains and forests.
