 Patrol Narrative: Encountered 2 Armed Merchants at 41'44N by 142'19E Torp depth 23 ft  fired 2 at each. All duded fired 1 more at each, both duded. Started evasive maneuver in case of unseen escorts (none detected) resulting in periscope damage and forced cancellation of balance of patrol. System Damage 4% No HULL DAMAGE. Fuel used 70,913 gallons (70%)  mission time 28.4 days. Mission patrol speed 1/3 as ordered. Am being retro fitted with SD radar.
