Tips For Beginners

Most of the sites you seem to go to never make sense to you, huh? Are you a beginner that is just lost in all this computer mumbo-jumbo? Read these simple steps to jumpstart your computer knowledge today!

1. If you see any flashing, elaborate pop-ups on your computer screen, it's usually some kind of spyware that is doing this. To remove this, head on to My Favortie Programs to get BOTh Spybot S&D and AdAware (NOTE: I remember me saying that you only need one of them... I take that back. Both scan your computers in different ways. I could go on and on about their differences, but to put it simply, one program might scan up something the other one didnt spot, and that is something that is very crucial. It has happened to me, and now I use both programs.)

2.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD any free P2P software, such as Kazaa or Exeem. They both come with very dangerous spyware and adware, and if you remove the spyware/adware, the application would not work. Heck, why would you want to get those things anyway? They're illegal!

3. Always delete your cookies and temporary files. To do this in Internet Explorer, just go to "Tools->Internet Options", then press "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files". Both will ask you if you really want to do the action. Press yes, and remember this: Security shouldn't be sacrificed for convience. You can also delete your history from there too. On the same tabbed window, choose "Clear History". This'll ask you again if you want to do it, choose yes. Now is the time to also delete your autofill files. Go to "Content" then click "Autofill...". This is where you can delete your forms and passwords (WHY DID MICROSOFT INCLUDE REMEMBERING PASSWORDS?!). To do this, choose "Delete Forms" and "Delete Passwords". Both will, once again, ask you if you want to continue... Choose yes. There, you're pretty much untraceable! (NOTE: Really desperate hackers might still gain access to your precious files... Even after you do all that... Watch out!)

4. To clear all the things in Mozilla Firefox, just click "Tools" then select "Privacy". On the bottom, there should be a button that says, "Clear All". Select that and confirm your action. Done, just like that!

5. To be continued...
