Athlon 4 Palomino
The Palomino core was first released as a mobile processor designed for use in notebooks. Unveiled on June 5th, 2001, the processor was implemented to bring AMD's notebook sector up to date. Replacing the old K6-2's and K6-III's, the new Athlon 4 was much faster and had a much better design. Along with this design were an improved thermal envelope, less power consumption, and PowerNow technology that increased battery life.
