Computer Tricks and Tips
Group Information

Group Description

We do not support hacking, cracking or booting.

The concept behind the creation of this Group was to provide PC help for anyone who may need it.

The Group is like a family of friends.
From PC Beginners to Computer Scientists, all are welcome, no question is too trivial and no question is too complicated.

We have Group members from a variety of countries with varying levels of skill. We endeavour to give help in a way that can be understood, regardless of your level of expertise.

Being a family Group, we ask for moderation in the language used. Do not post links to other Yahoo Groups Please.

We do share tips and little tricks and as a Group we have a sense of humour. So come on in, make yourself known and enjoy.

The only easy questions to answer are the ones you know the answer to. If you are seeking an answer, we may just be the Group you have been looking for.

The following is a quote from one of our members...........
"Groups, like this one are here to help, I have seen no evidence of any one here purporting to know everything. What I have seen, is a genuine willingness to help and research problems"

NOTE: We require that you use a proper name or nick name for this Group and that your Yahoo Profile contains your name or nickname. Please make sure your Yahoo Profile contains your Name (or Nickname), and Location (In general). We will not accept any new members who do not have this information on thier Yahoo Profile.

IMPORTANT: If your Yahoo Profile contains any Adult Material, Bad Langauge, or links to the same, it is very possible that your request for membership will not be approved.

Group owner- David
Moderators - Bernie, Jim, Barry, Mike.

Group Rules

A. It is very important to both read and understand the Group Rules. They are all there for a reason, some are requirements of Yahoo, some are my requirements as Group Owner and some are nothing more than the every day common curtesies that we should both give and expect.

B. All posts to the group should include both a salutation and a signature, (Dear Group, Hi All, Hi (insert members name), when replying to an individual member.) and signed with your name or nickname.

C. We do require that you use a proper name or nick name for this Group

D. We require that you either have a correctly filled in Yahoo ID or that you fill in a Members ID Form if requested to do so.

E. We do not endorse software piracy, booting, hacking or cracking and we do not allow the discussion of these subjects. We do however allow the discussion of software such as 'Zone Alarm' or other equivalent software that is used as a Firewall against hackers and software such as Ad-aware for the purpose of cleaning out Spyware.

F. Being a family Group, we ask for moderation in the language used.

G. Cross posting to other Yahoo Groups is not allowed.

H. We ask for politeness and curtesy to be shown at all times. We ask that when you have been helped you acknowledge this with a ‘Thank you’. If the advice offered did not help, please give feed back on this as well.

I. When recommending an application or program, please state if you have used it and can give assistance in the use of it.

J. When posting advice to another Member, please state if what you are saying is, a
Fact, Opinion or Assumption.

K. When offering help, please give as much information as possible. Making a statement like, ‘search the Internet for help’ doesn't really help.

L. When posting a link (URL) to a web site, for whatever reason, please check out the web site to make sure that it is a; not infected, b; does provide the information claimed and is not a link to another web site offering something else. DoNot Post Links to other Groups Please.

M. When a difficult problem is being handled by a member, please do not jump in and confuse the sequence of events.

N. Do not take problems off Group or ask members or moderators for private help.

O. We regret to say that we do not allow posting of links to Personal Web Sites. We have encountered some problems in the past with this and in the best interest of everyone, we ask you do not. Our apologies.
