EWJ/Dune Analysis
Perhaps some of you EWJ fans out there have noticed a pattern...a continual barrage of references to a series of books written before many of us were born.  The books are grouped under the collective title of "Dune," and have been the subject of a movie and a TV miniseries.  Just what is the connection between our beloved Earthworm Jim and the insane adventures of a bunch of guys ten thousand years in the future?  First let me present the evidence.
Firstly, there's that "I will not fear" chant that Peter recites.  For more info, click here.

Also there's the fact that Jim is a "great worm," although bearing little resemblance to the Shai-Halud in the books.

Of course, there's also the slogan of EWJ 2: "The worm has (re)turned!"  The phrase "The worm has turned" was used in Dune occasionally.

Also, the archvillain is really, really fat.

If you can think of anymore, mail

What's the point?!
Furthermore, just what is the point of the Dune/EWJ connection?  Is it meant to prove that one can both like an incomprehensibly complicated, 500-page long book and a silly cartoon?  What do you think?  Submit your opinion here and it will be posted.
