I worked as a Technology Consulting Assistant and assisted technology consultants stationed throughout the United States. The consultants travel approximately 95% of the time as they work with the banking industry. My job consisted of heavy email and Internet communication with both consultants and banks. I researched regulatory issues and technology vendors. The consultants sent me their on-site observations through email. I then created customized reports, including elements from Powerpoint slides, Excel spreadsheets and graphs, as well as MSWord documents, to provide to the bank clients.
In addition, I spent the last eight months at this company heading up the redesign and content management of ASM's new website.
I perform freelance copyediting and other proofing and revising services on a contract labor basis.
This company was a subsidiary of Alex Sheshunoff Management Services. This company published informational texts for the banking industry. I worked part-time, as needed, in proofing and editing these books before they are put into final publication. This company is no longer active.
Prior to returning to school, I had approximately 14 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in the Austin, Texas, area. This experience included law in the areas of bankruptcy, real estate, corporate, estate planning, personal injury, workers compensation, family matters, and general civil litigation. During the years 1985 through 1991, I owned and operated The Straight Line. This was a document retrieval and freelance paralegal service. We offered included making appearances at Bankruptcy Court, filing documents in all levels of court, researching court records, vital statistics, mineral rights, etc., mainly for out-of-town law firms. We also contracted with other services, such as this, around the country, to obtain documents and information from other areas for Austin-area law firms.
