AS
ICT Coursework
You should first look
at pages 19, 20, 30, 31, 32, 32, 34 & 35 of the specification, which can be found at the CCEA website. Note that you will need to have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer before
you can read the specification.
Print out these pages from the specification READ THEM CAREFULLY and keep them
for your own reference. They will tell you the marks that are available for
each section.
Choosing your topic
Your coursework should be based on a real organisation. Your task is not to
produce a complete system, but to create an application which will cover only
one aspect of that system.
For example: In a video hire shop, where the complete system would contain
modules covering rental, stock, members and suppliers tables, you would choose
only one of these modules, and complete your project based on this module. An
AS project could be completed by choosing only stock from the list of modules
above.
The topic should allow some input, processing (searching, calculations, etc)
and output.
No-one should choose to implement a system based on a video hire shop.
What should your coursework contain?
As well as the other sections (Analysis, Design, Software Development and
Technical Documentation, Testing, User Guide and Review), your coursework
should also contain:
Title Page - In draft form this page should also contain
your name (Your exam number should be included for the final hand-in)
