Haven't you ever wished you could predict the future?

But, even if you could, just how close would you

come to the bizarre reality you have come to face?

It's impossible to know what will happen next...

...and for those of us who spend each of our days

preparing for the next, the most precious of times are

those which are unrehearsed... those magical moments

one would never, in their wildest dreams, have imagined.

Such can be said about my time spent in

the house at 27 Madison Street.

For many, there is a time in their life when things seem so

out-of-whack... so incredibly crazy... that everything appears

to be going wrong. Yet, at the same time, there can be a

house full of your closest friends, where everything,

no matter how insane, just seems so right.

There can be people you have barely met before,

who suddenly know more about you than you had intended,

yet accept you for what you are...

or, people who teach you things

you never thought you'd want to learn,

but are forever grateful because of it.

And then there are the people whom

you have truly known forever.

These are the ones whom you can seemingly grow

apart from, yet will always remain in your life.

These are the friends whom you can always

look forward to having wild times with...

even if you two are the only ones to understand.

"Sometimes life is  more than what you make it..."

Sometimes life has to find you,

instead of you finding life.

Sometimes you can finish

someone else's thoughts

before they even have them.

Sometimes two people can grow up

in two completely different lands,

but end up in the very same place.

And then, if you are extremely lucky,

you will meet someone who will take you

on an adventure into the strange

foreign lands of life.

They will show you how to hold on

to your most valuable possessions,

even if they are miles and miles away,

and will forever be your source of

knowledge in your quest for tranquility.

Often, you encounter friendship

among those close to your friends.

Sometimes these friendships are silly and fun;

sometimes they are hours spent to get work accomplished.

"When you work you are a flute through whose heart

the whispering of the hours turns to music."

Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet : On Work

Sometimes they are the times spent

when waiting for someone else to return.

But, these moments are the ones you treasure,

for you know that there is nothing to lose

by just enjoying them.

Sometimes they are the ones who are

the first to hear your newest works,

for they will give their honest opinions.

There are certain individuals you

admire for their sincere goodness.

These are the special beings that

are genuinely beautiful people,

inside and out.

And then, there are the ones

you have yet to discover.

These are the people you have

so much to look forward to,

for the adventure has only begun.

Friends will come and they will go,

but they will always remain apart of your life.

They are what you look forward to when you wake up.

They are what keep you going day to day.

They are what you are thankful for when you go to sleep.
