I was on my way to somewhere

When someone I didn't recognize

She played in a field of grain,

Contentment in her eyes

She lived and moved in such peace

A peace I could not understand

She was young and she was glad,

contentment in her eyes

She drank and lived a dream I could not live

She thanked the flowers for the life they give

She smiled and laughed aloud

I slowly moved to leave her, her eyes innocent

She smiled and filled my heart with peace

Contentment in her eyes

She played in fields of amber grain,

She was innocent

She was young and she was glad,

in the sunlight I was blind

She drank and lived a dream I could not live

She thanked the flowers for the life they give

She smiled and laughed aloud at me.
