Non-Fiction

On my computer the file with my Non-Fiction pieces is called "My David Sedaris". David Sedaris writes essays about his life. His works include Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim, Naked, and others. Sometimes his essays are hilarious. Other times they're upsetting. They're always real. And they're always written with a wit that I would give anything to capture.
Saying that my life is bizarre would be an under statement. I have hundreds of stories of things that have happened to me that are weird. Sometimes those events become parts of stories (most of my stories include events from my life) and other times they become crappy little essays written on a whim (sometimes on restraunt napkins cause I'm that kind of person) and every now and then I type them out and save them.

I Shall Call Him Squishy
One of the most shocking and horrific moments of my life was when I was forced to face my own mortality. Years later I have come to terms with it and moved on, albeit with slowed steps and constant reminders, but its still very important to me. This is one of those events that I have tried to integrate into a story but its just too personal and too unusual to be done properly.
