Brownie then makes an attack on the Ancient Olympic games. He claims that it wasn't the Greeks that came up with the idea but it was the (guess who?) Syrians! Brownie claims that they also invented swimming pools. He also claims that Mt. Olympus (a sacred mountain to the Ancient Greeks) was really a shrine to the Syrian gods. How? He claims that the mountain was to worship the gods. For all he knew, they could be Syrians gods. But an interesting dilemma arises. How could Brownie be the gracious defender of Islam if he believes that there were many gods rather than one (Allah)? Again, another contradicion. When using rhetoric, it is easy to makes yourself look foolish.
It was just what Brownie said that makes this show a dismal failure. The show is in Arabic, but they do have English subtitles (which I read otherwise I'd have had no clue as to what was going on). On many instances, the English subtitles were undecipherable. They made no grammatical sense. Sometimes they even included Arabic subtitles (which as pretty much useless since Blackie and Brownie were talking in Arabic anyway). In addition to that, the producers of the show also forgot to put in subtitles for up to five minutes at a time (which unfortunately limits the amount of bullshit I detect off Brownie). The reception to the show is also very bad. In fact, I think it is actually being played off a tape.
While such distortion of history may produce some rather humourous results, the implications of such an act are very disturbing. With the lies that is being projected from this show, it is no wonder that the likes of Blackie can not initiate a sound dialogue about history with the likes of Brownie. Such rhetorc really give many people the wrong ideas. I sincerly hope that We and this World are not producing any more episodes. I really doubt that. I just hope that the series ended when Blackie finally lost his temper and killed Brownie with one of the thick books that lie around behind him. Then Blackie would triumphanyly say "This is real history, and it kicks arse!"
