..... of the town, Bo is nearly hit by a countless number of what I thought were laser beams from some satellite in outer space (I originally thought that the government was trying to keep Bo in the town by tracking him with cameras). Then a giant ray or forcefield like thing appears before him. For some reason Bo loses hope, yells at whoever does this (Peracles) and stomps back. I still only have a vague idea about what was infront of him. The special effects in this movie were horrible. By the looks of things, Bo could have just walked around it to escape.
Peracles also take control of this car that follows everyone around. Apparently it was stolen from somewhere else and the inventor comes to take it back. However, Peracles somehow kills him off and then reliquishes control of the car. Whatever Peracles does, he either has too much or too little power over everything.
It's not just Peracles that the problem with this movie. The humans also have their share of faults. In the movie, the waitress that Bo first met at the diner has a sister. Bo (rightly so) makes up all kinds of theories as to why he can't leave the town. The government, aliens, God; all these somehow play their part to deter Bo's plans. This is one of those movies where no one believes in the truth if somebody not well known tells it. The waitress's sister then asks people (in a sarcastic way) if they have noticed anything weird ("have you noticed that there is a government conspiriacy here? have you seen aliens here?").  Of course they won't notice if there was a government conspiracy! They're not THAT stupid!
The one character that seems to understand Bo the most is the cop that is in charge of impouding cars (Bo goes to him constantly to see where his car is until he finds out that it's been crushed by Peracles's powers). The cop also notices the wierd events going on in the town, but he doesn't believe Bo when he makes up his theories. I suppose even movie characters can be stubborn at times.

Black River is one of those movies that you want to see just so you can see how badly it falls apart. Or you want to see if the movie can fix itself up as it goes along. In short, the movie was crap and made no sense. It is just one of those mindless attempts to make something that everyone will think will be a masterpiece. Luckily, it's only been "popular" as a TV movie. And I hope that that is where it stays.
