Hope House
Hope House, located at 1421 Austin Ave., consists of 12 apartment units for women, children, and families.  Ten of the units are designated for families.  Two of the units are for single females.  Once accepted into the program, residents may stay for up to six months.

Applications for admittance are accepted on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2 PM.  A Waco Police Department check must be obtained prior to admittance.  In addition, prospective residents must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen.

Upon entering the Compassion Ministries program, families or individuals work with the Compassion Ministries staff to design a plan of action for the duration of their stay.  They also determine how these goals are to be met.

Areas outlined in the plan address housing needs, employment, family needs (childcare, parenting courses, AA/NA Counseling, etc.), medical needs, and personal goals.  The plans are resident-centered with staff providing necessary support.  Target dates are set as a guide for completion of the plans and are evaluated regularly to determine progress and to make adjustments as necessary.

Full-time employment is required within 30 days of entering the program.  Once employed, rent is paid based on a sliding scale basis.
