| WHAT TO EXPECT If this is your first massage you may be curious about what to expect before, during, and after a typical massage. Before your massage it is probably best to not eat a large meal. Some people like to take a warm shower or bath to assist them with feeling comfortable and relaxed. When you arrive for your appointment you will be greeted and given a health intake form to fill in. This will provide me with some valuable information pertaining to your current and past health. Upon completeing the form your I will show you into the massage treatment room and then do a verbal intake. During this time we will discuss what your needs and goals for the session are and he can answer any questions you may have. After this intake is finished, I will exit the room and you will prepare to get on the massage table. Before getting on the table, you may disrobe as much or as little as you prefer. Many styles of massage therapy are most effective when performed directly on the skin; however, you may leave your clothing on if you prefer. Once on the table and in between the soft sheets you can relax and enjoy the peacefulness. When you are completely situated on the table you will ring a bell to let me know that you are ready. He will then enter back into the room and make sure that you feel comfortable; adjusting anything to your liking such as the lighting, music, room temperature. As the massage begins it is your time to simply relax and gently breathe. A full body massage typically includes the back, buttocks, legs, feet, arms, hands, abdomen, head, neck and face. When each area is worked on the sheet is pulled back and then respectfully replaced. If there are areas of your body that you are not comfortable with having massaged, for any reason, mention this to me. You do not need to explain or rationalize your reasons. Eventually the massage will have to end and I will again leave the room. After getting up off the table take a moment to reflect on how you might feel different from when you arrived. If you noticed changes discuss them with me. I thank you for the honor to work with you and look forward to massage becoming a regular part of your good health routine! |
| A Little About Me I am a Christian, a mother of three, and a Certified Massage Therapist. I am trained in: Shiatsu, Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Accupressure, Kinesiolgy, Infant Massage, Anatomy/Physiology, Ortho Anatomy, Myofascial Release, Office Massage, Native American Hot Stone Therapy, Cellulite Reduction, Allergy Elimination, Deep Tissue Sculpting, Lymphatic Drainage, Aston Paterning, Bindgeweb, Lomi-Lomi, Trigger Point, and Aroma Therapy. I suppose my vocation as a facilitator of COMPASSION started early in my life. My late father had scoliosis (a painful curvature of the spine) and my mother sustained severe nerve damage in a car crash when I was a baby. From as long as I can remember, was walking on my father's back, or giving him 'karate chops'. At my mother's request I applied pressure to points in her feet, that I now know as Shiatsu, Accupressure and Acupuncture Tsubos also Reflexology and Kinesiology points. She was the first recipient of my specialty foot massage. |
