| A little Easter Bunny Came hop, hop, hop! Another little bunny Cried, "Stop, stop, stop!" |
| A Happy Easter Day |
| "My goodness!" said Easter Bunny. "What is all this about?" There was a hole in the Magic Basket And eggs were falling out! |
| The larger dyed eggs were Still packed in with care, But the little candy eggs Were lying everywhere. |
| So why not hide a basket Full of candy eggs so small And hide the big colored eggs In bushes, grass and all? |
| Cow said mommy bunnies And grandma bunnies too Had been making little baskets Just for something to do. |
| The cow was very old And she had learned a lot. It is what you have, Not what you have not. |
| Oh, deary me! What will The Easter Bunny do now? The very best idea came From an old brown cow. |
| Each child could have a basket And all the eggs they could find. Easter Bunny with baskets and big eggs Could finish and not be behind. |
| Mommy and grandma bunnies Would be very happy too, Because now they would have Something very important to do. |
| A basket they would make For every little girl and boy. Easter Bunny would fill them Full of candy and with joy. |
| At the edge of every town And the end of all the streets, The bunnies would have baskets Hidden, waiting for the sweets. |
| The oldest grandma bunny Said, "Wait a moment there!" And she mended the Magic Basket With the very greatest of care. |
| The Easter Bunny thanked everyone And hopped upon his way. And that's why children get Easter Baskets on every Easter Day. |
