How to Write a Current Event

 

Once you have found your INTERESTING article, do the following:

Ø    Ask yourself the following questions and highlight the answers in your article:

 

 

$  What? (What has happened/is about to happen?  What is the issue about?)

$  Who? (Who is involved?  Remember, who includes particular people:  Pres. Bush, J. Lo., Mayor, etc. as well as groups of people: Republicans, Puerto Ricans, soccer fans, Afghani, etc.)

$  Where? (Where did this take place?  When is it scheduled to take place?  If it’s been going on for a long time, when did it start and when will it end?)

________________________________________________________________________________

 

$  Why?  (Is it known why this happened/will happen?  Explain why or why not…)

$  ***How?  (How does it affect others?  BE SPECIFIC.  ALL NEWS AFFECTS PEOPLE SOMEHOW, SOMEWHERE.  How do you feel about it?  What is your opinion?***

Now write a review of the event.  It must be at least two paragraphs, one page cursive or ¾ page typed.  Please use white lined notebook paper with margins.  Reminder current events due every third Friday of every academic month from September to May.
