I have just been advised that Microsoft has acquired Giant and it's AntiSpyware product. They will continue to support existing customers for one year, but are not selling any new licenses.
While the product is probably still a good one, Microsoft has a long-standing policy of greatly downplaying the severity of threats against PCs. They consider the Spyware threat to be a "Medium" level threat, according to their "About Spyware" video.
For this reason, I'm no longer recommending this product. Over the next few weeks I will be researching other products (again) to find a suitable alternative.
For now, if you have a Spyware problem, I recommend installing the Giant product, cleaning your computer, then uninstalling it before the 30 day trial period is over. Until Microsoft re-writes it, it should still be a great product.
