No, really. Here's a crash course in comic book printing. (Links to the printable version of The Larson Street Kids: David's Story are below the instructions.) We have constructed the pages so all you have to do is print them, make some double sided copies, and staple them together. What makes it even easier is that you can have your local Kinko's or CopyMax (or whatever your local printer is called) do it for you. There will be some costs involved, but it will be much cheaper than if you had purchased these comics in a store. Step 1. Save these pictures to your computer. If you don't know how to do this, here's a quick and easy way to do it: left click on each picture and highlight "Save Image As . . ." or "Save Picture As . . .", and use the name it provides (A1, A2, B1 etc.) because these names will make easier for you when you wnat ot print it. Step 2. Print the pictures. You may want to use an image editing program such as Photoshop, Photoshop LE, Printshop Pro, Gimp, etc. A quick search on the web can find one of these. (However, I was able to print it by just right clicking on the file and selecting "Print".) If you get a message saying some clipping will occur, don't worry. It should only be clipping white off the edges. If it clips more than that, you may want to make the pictures slightly smaller in size or change your printer settings. Step 3. Notice on the back cover there is a blank space. This is to put contact information for you or your church, so you aren't just giving kids this comic without giving them a chance to follow up. Step 4. Match the pictures for the front and back of the double-sided copies. We have labelled the pages so that you can tell what pages are group when you make your double sided copies. A1 goes with A2, B1 goes with B2, C1 goes with C2 and D1 goes with D2. The letters are on each page for easy reference. A1 will go on the front, and A2 will go on the back, and so on. Step 5. Fold the double-sided copies down the middle, making a little book. Step 6. The book needs to be bound. If you have a stapler big enough, you can do this on your own, but you may want to just let a copy store do it. Step 7. Give it away! See? Easy. Well, sort of, anyway. (Actually, I'm pretty confused myself.) If you have any questions, go ahead and e-mail us at: Or visit the Christian Comics eGroup at eGroups.com. |
