I did not observe this - but saw this
post on another listserve and
hoped that someone might know the family that this nanny belongs to
and share this information.
Note: Based on responses to this post on the other list serve, it
appears that this was not the 1st time this nanny was observed
behaving in a similar manner.

Dear List Members:
While at Turtle Park (Van Ness and 41st) Wednesday, August 20, at
about 11 a.m., I witnessed a woman who I presume to be a nanny, tell
a child, "If you don't look for that toy, you're going to get hit."
She was carrying a long plastic shovel. The little boy looked
terrified and began to whimper.
The woman appeared to be in her 50s, is heavy-set, and has short
orange tinted hair. She was speaking Spanish to some other women at
the park. She had a green shirt and a black skirt. She spent most of
her time on her cell phone.
I asked the little boy his name. He told me his name is Eli and that
he is 3 and a half years old. He has blonde curly hair and light
blue eyes. He was wearing a faded red collared shirt and blue shorts
with a red pattern. His shoes were Birkenstocks.
This may not have been a big deal, but it concerned me and I felt
the need to try to find the parents of this child.
Thank you for your attention. If you want to contact me, please
respond to this email. I will not have access to email August 22
through August 25.
Best,
Katy Gingles
