Can anyone recommend a local wicker furniture repair person or business?
I am looking for someone that can fix a wicker couch.

Tile mechanic?

Recommendations for a skilled tile mechanic, specialized in ceramic tile and
marble, would be welcome. This is for re-tiling projects, relatively small
in scale but painstaking. Thank you.

Metropolitan Police Department Thefts From Auto

Metropolitan Police Department: Thefts From AutoMetropolitan Police Department
Thefts from Autos
One of the most common types of theft is theft of valuables from your automobile. Theft from auto is strictly a crime of opportunity that can be prevented if you take away the opportunity. Thieves generally won't waste their time breaking into autos that don't have valuables in plain sight.

Recently, the Metropolitan Police Department has recorded an increase in thefts from autos, particularly in the downtown area . If you plan on parking your car any area, be sure to secure your property. Please take the precautions listed below to help ensure your auto is not targeted by thieves:

a.. Keep Your Valuables Out of Sight
The best way to prevent theft from your auto is to always keep valuables out of sight. Never leave cell phones, briefcases, suitcases, or electronic devices (walkmans, palm pilots, laptop computers, etc.) in your car in plain view. Take these items with you, or secure them-all the time, every time.
b.. Use Your Trunk
If your car has a trunk, use it. Put valuables in there or in a locked glove compartment. Hiding items under seats is better than leaving them in plain view, but securing them inside the glove compartment or trunk is a far better deterrent.
c.. Don't Tempt Thieves with New Purchases
During the holiday season especially, or any time you're shopping, place packages in the trunk, not on the passenger seats or floors.
d.. Remove Your Radio Faceplate
If you can unfasten your sound system and take it with you, or lock it in your trunk, do so. And don't forget to do the same with your CDs and tapes.
e.. Lock It Up
Also, keep your car doors and windows locked-all the time!
Remember: "Outta sight, outta mind"-if thieves can't see your valuables, they're less likely to waste their time targeting your auto. Take the time to secure your valuables; it makes a difference.

My cat Lucky needs a wonderful home. He has been with us for 8 years. My
family and I recently had to move and we couldn't bring our handsome Lucky with
us. He is now at the Washington Humane Society on Georgia Ave.

He is a short-haired orange and white tabby who loves outdoors. He is super
friendly who loves to cuddle, have his white tummy rubbed, be picked up like a
baby, sleep next to you. Lucky has lived with other cats so he's totally
comfortable with other cats.

I am posting this ad in hopes of getting Lucky a warm comfortable home. He
has never been away from us in the 8 years we've had him, so now he is super
sad. So I really need your help. If you're looking for a lovable cat, Lucky is
your guy!

electrician needed for unusual repair

I bought a ride-on car for my son Finny's 2nd birthday. After the first
trip down the alley, it conked out. I'm looking for an electrician who
is willing to take a look at it. The battery is fine because the lights
come on strong. The motor seems to turn fine. The wheels spin well. I
can only think there is a wiring/switching problem. Please help ! it
was an impulse buy from the web, and it would cost me $100 in shipping
to send it back for a replacement. Mark 202-744-5113
