Aw, Richard, you've let the cat out of the bag! Rose Roofing is my
ultra top secret slate specialist who kept the rain out of my house for
more than 30 years.
I just hope they don't get tsunamied with work now. And can get the
additional work crew to their standards.

Rose is the gold standard, especially for slate roofs.

D&M carried Washington Consumer Checkbook's highest rating for years. They did an excellent job replacing a porch roof for me about 15 years ago. Just goes to show, maybe the work ethic was better then, D&M stuffed the ballot for that high rating (not unheard of since I understand tradesmen have been found to be tooting their own horns right here) or I was just lucky.

It is just as important for people to report bad service to others as it is to recommend. It's important in my view to be specific about the complaint, however.

From: Kathy Smith -- the person who made the complaint
was specific, but I generalized it. I thought it was
adequate to know they were unhappy with the roofer
without going into great detail. -- Blame me.

We have a leaky flat roof. Does anyone know a roofer with good
experience in flat asphalt (hot patch) roof repair? Andrew

Hit-and-Run with Green ATV

I just saw four kids driving a green ATV (all-terrain vehicle) hit a blue Volvo wagon near
the corner of 44th and Fessenden. The kids appeared to be white, and were a mix of boys
and girls. They fled the scene, despite damaging the car. The police arrived at the scene
within three minutes.
