The man who assaulted Jim was known to neighbors as someone who knocks on doors and asks whether they want him to mow their lawn.

From: Dan Froomkin <dan@froomkin.com>

Hi everyone,

Just a heads up. There's a homeless gentleman who's been a
neighborhood fixture for a long time -- a voluble, friendly guy who
very diligently picked up garbage around 39th Street east of Wisconsin
Avenue. He's maybe 5'10'', wiry, light-to-medium-complected African
American.

Anyway, I hadn't seen him for several weeks until I ran into him
yesterday evening on the field behind the Wisconsin Avenue McDonald's
-- and he seemed like a totally different guy. Very angrily talked
about killing people, sort of challenged me to a fight. I gave some
information to the nice folks at the Second District police station.
Maybe he was just having a bad day, but I thought I would just let
people know. And if anyone has any further thoughts or observations,
please feel free to e-mail me.....

Dan

We have a very small porch that needs to be rescreened (and painted).
Can anyone recommend someone who would be good at this job?
Thanks.

Amari replaced seven windows in our house and fixed one sash.
Excellent job, fair price. I thought his company was Chevy Chase Windows.
