Hi,

Does anyone know of anyone locally that has installed solar panels OR
can anyone recommend local firms that we could contact to investigate
this option? Thanks

This is not a good time to divide hostas. I recommend you wait until
late August through mid-October, or even later. When dividing leave
the leaves on because photosensitivity is still taking place and it
will help the roots develop before the frost. Also remember to water
them well during this time.

Tenley Library Redevelopment --  Proposal

Posted by: "kathysmithindc" [email protected]   kathysmithindc

Tue May 8, 2007 8:21 am (PST)

From: Julie Schapire @ tenleytown@yahoogroups.com

I am sure that many of you are looking forward to getting more
information about the Roadside proposal to redevelop the library and
modernize Janney in exchange for building a condominium on the corner
of Wisconsin and Albemarle. It seems that a great deal of information
that the community might find of interest has already been posted at:

http://ward3vision.org/_emails/2007.05.07.html

I am not sure exactly how this information came to be posted on this
web site, when only a fraction of this material has been disseminated
at Janney. This information is not available on Roadside's web site.
While many of you are still trying to make up your mind about this
proposal (or even gather information about it), it is evident that
Ward3Vision has begun to lobby for it.

I am hopeful that as many of you as possible will come to the ANC 3E
meeting this Thurs., May 10th at 7:30 PM at St Mary's Church (42nd and
Fessenden), hopefully to ask lots of questions and get lots of answers.

Julie Schapire

Murch auctions on eBay -- more items for sale this week!

Posted by: "lfkaiser2000" [email protected]   lfkaiser2000

Murch is selling some wonderful items on eBay this week -- fine china,
comic books, and more to come. Even though the auctions are on eBay,
the easiest way to access them is through Murch's home page on Mission
Fish, the eBay fund-raising portal. Sounds confusing, but click on this
link to get started:
http://www.missionfish.org/NPMMF/nphomepage.jsp?NP_ID=17472
Remember, 100% of the proceeds benefit Murch. We offer free
shipping/delivery to Murch families, which we'll extend to anyone who
lives in the 'hood. Happy bidding and thanks for your support!

Talented repair men

I want to recommend the employees of Brothers Sew-Vac Center at 3317
Connnecticut Ave. (on the south end of the Cleveland Park strip). Not
only have they repeatedly and reliably fixed my old Electrolux, they
have also refurbished two elderly, "period" fans - not valuable but
irreplacable -for only a small fee. A young man named Asan did the
good work on the fans, and the Jose Ventura is the affable manager who
worked on the vacuum machine. They are a pleasure to deal with and I
feel that they give good value. Alice
