It is a problem. I received an
email on April 11 from the Examiner
saying they would stop. They did not. Today I finally called the
1-800-531-1223 published in the Examiner. I got a hold of Becky 703
839-8320 or 703 738-0762. She called me back and said she would put
in another request. I was already on the do not deliver list she
said. Apparently they are having trouble with their distributer who
does not pay attention to the do not deliver list. Unfortunately I
was informed the Examiner intends to continue "Free Distribution"
until an individual asks to me omitted.
The head of circulation is Tom Desimone 703-738-0753.
If enough call they might reconsider. I don't know if anyone on my
block reads the Examiner, judging from the pile of papers in front of
the homes.

I tried threatening the e-mail
addressee with a littering charge
after 48 hours - zippo, no response. Then I tried phoning 410 878
6100, which surprisingly seems to be their Baltimore office, and
after grumbling that at my age I didn't really appreciate having to
engage in a front lawn treasure hunt in the dew and in all kinds of
weather, rain and shine, snow and hail, and would they please stop
delivering. I believe my original e-mail just triggered a delivery
revenge, but the third call to Baltimore (with special emphasis on my
age - 85) got results. Peace and harmony resulted. (I'm keeping my
fingers crossed, however - but so far,so good.)
