Suggestions For Stopping DC  Examiner Delivery

*** From: "bk" <[email protected]>
I had the same exact problem --- It took at least 6 calls, but delivery ultimately stopped. It's been many months since I've had an Examiner dumped on the sidewalk.

*** FROM: jfkhoury@erols.com
I have complained on numerous occasions to the DC Examiner
circulation office, including sending a letter threatening
to sue them for trespass. All to no avail. If you are
interested in some concerted action, I'd be interested. Jane

*** From: Samantha Nolan <nolantutor@yahoo.com>
Several people have written to me lately asking how to stop the Examiner. This was an old email I found that I used to stop it at my house. I haven't tried the numbers below to see that they are still working, but you can try if you are having this problem.
Samantha Nolan

I had the same problem stopping the Examiner delivery that
others had. It took me several calls, but eventually I too talked with David Gasperetti, the director of circulation. His direct number
is 703/846-8415.

The other person to speak with is Laura Bright's boss,
John Skinker who works for NewsOne, the contract company which handles deliveries for the Examiner. Mr. Skinker's cell number is 301/325-0756.

I believe this was posted by Jordan Benderly the first time.

*** From: L Carter <ldcdc1@yahoo.com>
I wrote them a very nasty, insulting letter, comparing them to Rush Limbaugh and FOX news, and haven't had to clean that trash out of my yard since.

I have had a good experience with John Dedon, at Odin, Feldman & Pittelman, PC. He knows his stuff, is very pleasant, and will take the time to walk you through everything as many times as you need. He's not in the AU area (he's in Fairfax, VA), but he does travel. Office number is (703) 218-2131, email is John.dedon@oflplaw.com. Good luck.

*** From: JCar456618@aol.com
Concerning lawyers who do wills and estate trusts, I've had good work done by Quinn O'Connell, Jr., at 5100 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Tel. 537-1820. James Carroll, former Northwest DC resident.

[americanuniversitypark] film sneak peak to benefit Hospice by friend
of Tenleytown/AU
From: odysseus_in_ithaca
<david@americanuniversitypark@yahoogroups.com

I live on Albemarle Street. (Probably best known as the ReDefeat Bush
guy.) My wife Jayne and I are responsible for publicizing an advanced
showing next Thursday March 8th of the film "Two Weeks," opening
nationwide two weeks from now. It is a comedy that deals with
end-of-life issues and is a benefit for the National Hospice
Foundation. The film is the first feature directed by a close friend.
He was best man at our wedding and knows a number of AU Park
residents who graduated from Brown.

The show in at 7:00 at the Regal Gallery Place, adjacent to the
Verizon Center. It's about four siblings who rush home to say their
last goodbye to their mother. When she hangs on, they find themselves
trapped together—for two weeks. The film's stellar cast is headlined
by Sally Field (The Flying Nun, Norma Rae, Brothers and Sisters) and
Ben Chaplin (The Truth About Cats and Dogs), along with Julianne
Nicholson (Law & Order, Kinsey), Tom Cavanagh (TV series Ed and Love
Monkey) and others. It is rated R. See the trailer at

http://www.twoweeksmovie.com.

Tickets are available at the door or through Hospice:

http://www.nationalhospicefoundation.org/i4a/pages/Index.cfm?pageID=119

Join us, if you can, to support Hospice and a friend, and see a new
film before everyone else. Thanks.

MORE ON DC EXAMINER

*** FROM: joannelevine@earthlink.net
It took several calls to their circulation department (the
number is listed with their other office numbers -- maybe on
p.2), but eventually they stopped delivering it.

*** From: W. Geoffrey Seeley <seemark@att.net>
I had to call three times and finally began piling the papers at the
curb. Eventually, they stopped. I think the problem is that the
carrier doesn't read the stop list, just mechanically throwing the
paper out at each house. I think if you let them pile up, he will
eventually get the message.
